SAN ANTONIO, TX., January 17, 2018 –  Globalgig, the wireless connectivity provider, has unveiled its new Global Channel Program and appointed Gregg Rowe, formerly with Vonage and CenturyLink, to lead the effort. His title is senior vice president of channel sales and strategic alliances.

Rowe tells Channel Partners that while Globalgig does have a few partners, “this is a full-scale channel program launch with dedicated leadership, documented processes and a global focus on becoming an integral provider within the partner community.”

“Globalgig recognizes that enterprises rely heavily on agents, consultants, MSPs, IT solution providers and systems integrators for solution ideation, design, sourcing, contracting and ongoing management,” he said. “It just makes great business sense for us to build relationships with partners so that our wireless data solution set becomes an integral part of their own.”

Rowe is a 27-year veteran of cloud, IT, telecom and robotics, and previously was Vonage Business’ vice president of West channel sales. He also held positions with Lightstream and HP.

“It is hard to find enterprises that aren’t planning or don’t already have wireless data use cases, and we believe the partner community should be winning these with all of their customers,” he said. “Our goal is to educate partners on the use cases; provide nimble, flexible competitive solutions; provide great support; and create great customer and partner experiences such that partners are the go-to for wireless-data solutions for their customers.”

Globalgig has a current partner opportunity for wireless data backup for a restaurant chain with hundreds of locations in the United States and Europe, and a few in Asia Pacific, Rowe said. The customer was working with a partner to design and source a connectivity offering that they could manage with their limited IT staff, and the partner brought in Globalgig for its global wireless capabilities, he said.

“Upon engaging the customer with the partner, we also learned the customer wanted to simplify their broadband connectivity,” he said. “With an understanding of their challenges, we provided a full connectivity solution, inclusive of the wireless routers, that incorporated automated failover to the wireless data connection. We built a simple, customized data plan for their global footprint and usage patterns. We also aggregated their broadband connectivity to simplify their overall management. The customer had already tested wireless backup but was blown away with our capability to provide a simple, global solution that gave them the resiliency they needed and tremendously simplified their management requirements.”

Ernest Cunningham, Globalgig’s CEO, said his company is positioned with “solutions and from a thought-leadership perspective to take on the market globally and will be aggressive in winning new business opportunities, and supporting and collaborating with our partners.”

“Gregg is somebody who we worked with at the executive level previously supporting us as a customer,” he said. “He really understands the types of our target partners. We are moving fast to establish ourselves as the go-to provider for our channel partners to help their clients with their technology migration.”
